Kay has undertaken some more cosmetic work on his RH 165DE. Ian helped out with the staff Mk 1. Roland continued his work on the rail crane assisted by all just before dinner - the sticking collar was forced roind and upwards, this will enable the shaft to be cleaned up and should enable it to turn freely - getting there!

Longhoughton Goods Yard - BS, DMS, IC, TS, DT, RJ, MH, moving and sorting materials, dismantling track panels., Well we had a hot day up at the yard. As Ian’s digger is still “”offcontract”" and sitting in the yard Ian, Baz and DT used it to dig out the line of siding two and lay out some more F27 concrete sleepers and 113A flatbottom rail. The new bits have been set down into the yard so that the ballast is at rail level enabling vehicles to run over the top of it. While that was being done Roland was having a look at the crane; Mark and I gave him a hand, and the spider that carries the rollers for the actual crane body is now starting to turn a bit easier - more work is required but we are on our way to having a useable crane
Tom was working on the engine of Scarth the Dumper.
