Working Party Report
Longhoughton Goods Yard - BS, DMS, TS, KSW, Continuation of work on road 2. Movement of materials. General tidy up. Sort tools., Baz and Dave started by wiring one of the heaters in the Mark 1 staff coach to a 13amp plug and connected it up to the genny – this seemed to work and a bit of heat was generated! The tractor had all the filters removed and fuel pipe unions slackened off, and when Tom delivered the fresh diesel this was put in the tank and pushed found the system to expel the air and contaminated fuel. A sniff of easy start to get the engine to kick and it started and ran, so it’s back in service. This was then used, along with the Atlas, to move the F27 concrete sleepers from the middle of the yard to a stockpile. The spare engine was lifted out the back of Dougal and the muck swept out. A pair of batteries were wired in and put on charge. The lights work okay, though there seems to be an intermittent connection. Tom was cleaning out the Personnel Carriers and Kay was continuing with the flooring in the Mark 2 TSO.
