Ownership of the station cottages at Alnmouth has been transferred to the former Alnwick District Council following compulsory purchase by them. Although immediate demolition was expected this has not happened to date. The reason for the delay is unknown.

The Society is awaiting action by Alnwick District Council in connection with the compulsory purchase of the cottages so that they can be demolished to provide access to a proposed additional car park for the main line station.
